found this post in main forum. i hadn't checked out that section on this site before and was kinda surprised by the MM hunter .
now i know doing the most damage is a good thing but i'm just curious about for general use. is it common practice to pay and change your tree for different events and situations? just to let you know i've only been playing for 1.5 months so i might be way off but the full on MM build seems rather limited? great for PvP, instance, and other activities where you don't need your pet to tank for you.

Dealing with Intercept

I recently rolled onto a PVP and have been sharpening my skills in BGs and in the field. I feel comfortable fighting most classes, with the exception of the Warrior. The problem being their Intercept. I can nullify their Charge by putting them into combat status with the first shot, but Intercept is still available to them. In those three seconds of stun, they just do horrendous amounts of damage, and thrown in Hamstring to make Wing Clip less useful.
I'm a Tauren, so I figure my best move after or before Intercept is to...

There's two types of skills a pet can learn: active and passive. Active skills are things like Growl, Claw, Prowl, Lightning Breath, Screech, etc. Passive skills are things like Great Stamina, Avoidance, Natural Armor, Arcane Resistance, etc. A pet is limited to four active skills at a time, but may know any number of passive skills (limited by training points, of course).

Pet Skill Use Priority

At the moment the Pet Skills are a real Mess , it used to be Growl had Priority over all other skills but now it seems very random which will start off with the pets attack.
They decided the boars had a bug in their attack and were gaining far to much aggro , since then they have been trying to fix things but still all the pets have the bug of random casting , it used to be Growl was always first it has a 5 second cool-down then Bite with a 10 second cool-down and then claw which has no cool-down so the priority was the cool down skills and any instant cool down skill used any remaining focus, The growl and the cool down Skills always seemed to over ride any instant casts and would trigger as soon as enough focus was generated .
These days i have seen on my cat that sometimes i wait up to 10 seconds for that first Growl to happen but usually there is a Claw and a Bite before the Growl or at least one attack before the growl , I h...

Honestly? Come on now...
You want to just sit and spam one button in combat? How is that fun to you? Is it so hard to actually manually keybind those skills and fire them off seperately? Hell if you're really lazy, just take whatever your grinding sequence is...and bind them in order...1, 2, 3, 4, 5. You need more than that? After 5, cycle on to Shift+1, Shift+2, Shift+3, Shift+4, Shift+5... It's not hard.
This game isn't hard.
I can't understand how people want to make it any easier. Leveling's easy, instances are easy, heroics are easy, and raiding and pvp (with good team members) is easy aswell. If it was any easier, and dumbed down any more it wouldn't be a game, it'd be a god damn movie and you'd just watch your character do everything while sitting in your chair doing...
