There’s two types of skills a pet can learn: active and passive. Active skills are things like Growl, Claw, Prowl, Lightning Breath, Screech, etc. Passive skills are things like Great Stamina, Avoidance, Natural Armor, Arcane Resistance, etc. A pet is limited to four active skills at a time, but may know any number of passive skills (limited by training points, of course).
